Opel cars
Opel is a German car manufacturer based in Rüsselsheim. The history of the company dates back to 1862, when Adam Opel started his small sewing machine production. Later, in 1899, his son, Friedrich Opel, started manufacturing cars. In the first year, Opel produced only three car models, but after a few years the production was expanded.
History of the Opel car manufacturer
After General Motors (GM) acquired a majority stake in Opel in 1929, Opel became GM's most important European subsidiary. Over its long history, Opel has released many different car models, including very popular ones such as Kadett, Rekord, Astra, Corsa, Vectra, Insignia and others. All these models have been designed to meet the needs and preferences of different drivers and have received many positive reviews for their functionality, safety, innovation and reliability. Throughout its history, Opel has also faced difficulties such as financial problems and worker strikes.
Opel cars today
In 2017, Opel was bought by the PSA group, which includes Citroen, Peugeot and other brands. Today, Opel continues its activities and offers various car models such as Corsa, Astra, Crossland, Mokka and Grandland. Opel also continues its efforts to develop innovative technologies, such as the electric motor, which is already equipped in some Opel models. Opel is one of the longest-running European car manufacturers and is still very popular with drivers around the world.
